S&P 500 Nears Record as Most Stocks Lag — Sep 27, 2026
🔹 Peter Schiff said 430 S&P 500 stocks sit 21.7% below their highs on average, putting about 86% in bear territory.
🔹 He called that bth as weak as levels last seen before the 1973 and 2000 market crashes.
🔹 Nvidia $NVDA and Apple $AAPL alone make up a record 15% of the index’s market cap and have driven much of the gain.
🔹 The equal-weighted S&P 500 has lagged and is down 5.5% over five weeks.
🔹 Historical comparisons point to caution, though some note that passive-investing inflows could change the path from past cycles.
